The Karen Weidinger Foundation ("KWF") is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe the information and resources offered by our foundation should be available to all members of the St. Charles community and beyond.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

This site is currently in partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partial conformance" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard, and we are actively working to address those areas.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility, we:

  • Include accessibility as part of our website maintenance and review process.
  • Test pages with automated accessibility tools and manual keyboard / screen-reader review.
  • Provide text alternatives for meaningful images.
  • Allow the site to be operated using only a keyboard.
  • Honor the user's reduced motion system setting.
  • Allow the page to be zoomed without loss of content.
  • Use form labels and clear required-field indicators.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas of the site may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Parts of the experience are also provided by third-party services we rely on (donations through Stripe, race registration through RaceRoster, the contact-form relay through FormSubmit), and the accessibility of those embedded experiences is governed by those providers.

Some PDF documents linked from this site (such as sponsorship agreements) may not be fully accessible. If you need an accessible version of any document, please contact us and we will provide one.
