Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
The Karen Weidinger Foundation is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that the information and resources provided by our foundation should be available to all members of the St. Charles community and beyond.
Conformance status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
Our website is currently in partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partial conformance" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to address those areas.
Measures we take
To support accessibility, we:
- Include accessibility as part of our website maintenance and review process
- Test pages with automated accessibility tools and manual keyboard / screen-reader review
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images
- Allow the page to be operated using only a keyboard
- Honor the user's reduced motion system setting
- Allow the page to be zoomed without loss of content
- Use form labels and clear required-field indicators
